Try a site called guru.com Freelance artists bid on jobs people post. I get several t-shirt offers every day. But be warned, competition is tough. And there is no shortage of t-shirt designers bidding on them. I man actually land one job out of dozens of bids. better still, set up a shop for yourself on cafepress.com (Time for a shameless self promotion... :) Here is mine. http://cafepress.com/artmakersworlds Sell your own work. Or... do what I do. Guru will email you jobs that fit your profile, I read what people are looking for in shirt designs. Bid when I want to just sell them a design outright, and if I don't win, heck. I can put that design on my own shop! Freelancing is tough. If you already have a job with a garment company, don't lose it

freelance jobs

freelance jobs?
In writing/proofreading/data entry I want a site that has a list of jobs that people need done and that i contact them about doing it for them. I don't want sites like monster.com or a REAL job. This is just for a little extra income. I am not paying for anything because if it is legit you don't have to pay. I don't care if you do survey sites or pay to click or something like that because that's not what i am asking for! (I searched on Y!!a and that's all that was provided) don't say craigslist!!! Just so you know I do type better when needed. This is just Y!A so I don't break out what I learned in English class here. I only use paypal and please don't try to convince me to use something else!

How can I find a job as a Spanish - English translator

How can I find a job as a Spanish - English translator?
I speak Spanish and English, with English as my first language. I am willing to work from home and am willing to do freelance work, but I do not know where to begin. Any information from current translators or those who have sought translations services before would be greatly appreciated.

government listings and the courts

There are lots of places that need translators. Try service centers for large companies i would start with places like samsung sylvania, panasonic and places like that. The ship small appliances like microwaves, tvs, stereos and walkmans all over the world and need translators. u might be able to work from home... They have 24 hour service centers that get call forwarding ... I would contact a Job placement center like... Manpower, JOBSINC> look in the yellow pages for job service centers and tell them your qualifications. Some pay 15 to 25 dollars an hour and more if there is legal work involved. Best of luck.. I

Where can I get a job in Photography

Where can I get a job in Photography?
I wouldn't be freelance, seeing as I don't have all the equiptment yet. And I stress YET. Do I have to have to go to school to work for a photographer? Even portrait photography?

you might need some type of background working with computers and different types of cameras because todays technology is always changing
2 :
It all depends. If you have proofs that you can show to a photography studio, they just may hire you. Just practice taking photos of your friends and family, gather your best pieces and submit them to a studio that is hiring. If they don't like your photos, ask them what they don't like and maybe they will give you some constructive criticism. Just keep practicing. I have always thought that some people have an eye for photography and some don't. Depends on which one you are.
3 :
You need not go to school- check at your local camera shop and see if they need any help, c heck with local photographers and see if they need any assistants or second shooters. If you want to go it alone, use what you have and start doing portraits for friends and family, people for some reason are now also wanting pet portraits. All you need is a camera to get started-use what you have and go from there! You don't even need a studio- do everything on location- any scenic area- the local park, a botanical garden, even someplace in your own neighborhood that has nice scenery will do

Possible Freelance Graphic Art project, what should I charge per hour

Possible Freelance Graphic Art project, what should I charge per hour?
I have the job of trying to turn a detailed photo into an graphic so it can be screen printed. Which will take a while trying to do piece by piece depending on how detailed they want this. Then add a few elements and text to the image. It's for a friend of my father's so I don't want to charge him too terribly much, but I don't want to cheat myself either. Any thoughts on what would be reasonable would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

if it's original art , $25 hr. No exceptions. If they supply the artwork and all your doing is the prep for screen, then I'd charge by peice. Say $500 for the whole thing, half up front. This is going to entail adding in the text, then splitting it into cmyk which is no big deal, but it's YOUR machine, time, and knowledge doing this. I made a flyer for Creative Labs once, Took a whole half an hour. The deal was for anything in the catalog. Turned out to be a $550 sound card. Put my rate at $1100 hr. When we do farm work, it's because THEY either can't or they're overwhelmed and have to. They are at OUR mercy not the other way around. Personally I could probably knock this project out in about an hour. That's going slow

Depending on what state you're in, you can get a business liscense for $20. Get your portfolio online on a website. Get business cards printed, hand them out and tell everyone you know about what you're doing. Hit Craigslist and sign up on the 'get a freelancer' sites (type in "Graphic designer" and the name of your town into Google. Get your name on the first pages that come up. Figure out how much to charge per hour, or quote a flat rate. There will be some trial and error, don't try to compete on price(you'll starve eating crumbs), but you CAN compete on service. Look around and see what people are charging and what customers get out of it. It helps to get on good terms with a reliable printer(NOT Kinkos). They'll be happy to work with you, and can give you tips on what will get an accurate representation of your designs. That and if they don;t have a designer in-house, they could just be shooting business your way. Also, the less time clients have to spend on printing and such, the happier they'll be.

try this site http://www.ifreelance.com

If you don't already get your photographs from micro stock photo sites for your designs. You may want to consider doing so as it is a huge cost savings over the traditional stock agencies. You may also find the forums useful on these sites. To get started visit this page: http://www.smilelikeumeanit.com/stock.html

Whats a good job for my friend who just graduated college

Whats a good job for my friend who just graduated college?
She has an associates degree in art-graphic design. She has a strong portfolio for graphic design and fine art. She also is an intermediate at webpage design and has knowledge of html and css. She is only 24. Would a high school graphic teacher be appropriate, freelance, working for a company or what? Whats best? Is freelance a terrible option?

Freelance is great for building up a portfolio and indeed a name for yourself but its not secure - the industry in general is massively competitive - it can depend entirely on where you are located too. If her portfolio is as strong as you say, just send it off to as many design, print, photography and advertising companies as you can find and see who responds. Your main aim in the current climate is to stay employed - gaps in your CV are picked up on, especially in an industry that is often over saturated. Failing that: companies - at least in the UK where I am - are also offering less permanent contracts so the best option from my perspective is to find an agency specializing in IT and just take whatever contracts they can get you
