would this be considered a job for my resume

would this be considered a job for my resume?
I'm trying to write my CV I just filled in all my volunteer work, now i'm at the job section. I'm a freelance makeup artist, I've been doing some freelance work (makeup artist for events and such) would that be considered a job to put on my resume or should I leave it out? I'm also hoping to get a job somewhere in the cosmetology field: probably in retail for now, at a counter or something. i'm 16, 17 in about a month never had a job. only babysat i charge though =/

yes.u can put it on ur resume as volunteering experience

Yes, you can definitely put it as a job, it was a job after all! Seeing as you were freelance, you obviously can't put who you worked for, but I'd recommend that you give some examples of places that you worked, and some of the events. You can put the babysitting as well though, because although that's not official 'work', it is still something that you're paid for, and it still proves that you have qualities like having to have good communication skills and are able to take responsibility - which an employer will look for when recruiting people for a job! Hope this helps. x

Everything counts! Even if your going for a IT job you still need to put down past jobs that don't relate (the IT thing was just an example), it's not just about them seeing what related jobs you have had it's about the whole experience, getting a job means you have independence and they can rely on you to turn up to work. Also it means you have had experience of the "real world" and all of these things contribute to getting a job, your boss would feel happier knowing you can do all of these things. So yes you should definitely put it down and any other experiences in life that you think would help. =]

I would not recommend you put that down on your Job history section. Especially if your not a licensed Makeup artist in your state. I would put that down in your Volunteer section of your resume

What is the best way to word freelance work on a resume

What is the best way to word freelance work on a resume?
I am interviewing for investment banking jobs and my latest employment experience is independent DJ work that I did on the side through college. Its completely unrelated to finance, but it is my most recent experience. Should I include it? If so, what would be the best way to word it?

You could put-- Independent Contractor, Music Production Highlight the qualities that you exhibited pertaining to the current position you're seeking. Hope this helps :)
2 :
Whether or not you include it depends on what other qualifications you have. If you have previous experience that is related, you may want to leave that job off, or at least put it at the bottom under a heading like "Additional Experience" or "Freelance Experience." Ideally, the qualifications you possess that are most relevant to the job you're applying for should be at the top, whether it's education, training, experience, language skills, certifications, etc. Good luck! Good question because right now there are teenagers making huge amounts of money with their blogs. They have the time, the friends and the network to attract a lot of visitors to their blogs. With adsense on their sites they know that teenagers are happy little clickers causing a tidal wave of money in earnings.

I recommend Forever Living Products - you can do as many or as few hours as you like and typically on 1-2 hours a day you will earn £1200 per month after 5 months and £30-£40k per year after 2-3 years - if you do more hours you should get more. They are a $2 billion company growing at 25% per year and need a lot more people - no investment required also, regulated by Dti and Office of Fair trading and have investors in people award also. link is: www.efi-international.com

Which would be a better job

Which would be a better job?
I'm moving to Taiwan, and currently thinking of 3 options as my career there: 1) Find a food industry and get a job as QA/lab technician (as I hold a Food Technology degree), but I have stopped working in this field for the past 3 years. 2) Get a CELTA certificate there and look for job as English Teacher (I'm not English native speaker though and never had any teaching experience) 3) Do freelance English-Chinese translation jobs at home Which of those jobs would be easier to approach and promise better pay/future? Please advise! Thank you!

1) wud b a better future 2) so so 3)easier to approach
2 :
Freelance teaching would be good money, but only when the work is there. I'd go option 1 as they'll always need food with the growth of industry/tourism/population
3 :
its really up to you. choose something that you feel you are good at but also something that you'll enjoy. you can't go in their thinking that as long as it pays good, cos then you may only like it for that. you need to take on the positive and easier approach that will leave you feeling pleased with yourself for taking on that job position
4 :
You are going to have tough competition in the three fields. My suggestion is to pursue the tech job and the translations at teh same time. It htere is time availble get the CELTA as a back up. You may find a niche in teaching /translating ih the food technology area.
5 :
I think you need to first figure out what is your passion. Then evaluate which of the above option offers you, job security, career advancement, job satisfaction and most importantly financial security.
6 :
You have not given us enough information to answer your question. The appropriate answers would depend on your nationality status and marital status. In general, under Taiwan law, you would be classified into one of four categories: (1) Taiwan citizen with ROC ID card and passport, (2) ROC national with ROC passport but with no ID and no Household Registration for the Taiwan area, (3) the holder of PRC citizenship and PRC passport, or (4) a foreigner. The laws regarding work rights would be different in each case, and would also depend on your marital status. That would come back to a consideration of which of the four categories above your spouse fit into. Obviously, a person married to a spouse of category #1 could expect to obtain the most liberal work rights. I suggest that you visit the legal forums of forumosa.com/taiwan/ for more details

What job title should I give myself

What job title should I give myself?
I'm starting a home-based research & consultancy business. My background is in market research and I'll be developing some research reports on a freelance basis. I don't want to give myself a grandiose title like CEO or Managing Director when it's a one-man operation. Research Consultant perhaps, but that was my title when I was fresh college graduate. Any other ideas?

How about Senior Research Consultant ?
2 :
Put - "Owner" by your name
3 :
Why not simply "Consultant?"
4 :
How 'bout Professional Research Consultant
5 :
I would keep it simple and call yourself a Research Consultant. It is accurate, direct and to the point. Your primary function, as far as your clients are concerned is as a RC. Makes the most sense. Besides in the business world everyone has a useless title that is merely a reflection of the specific function. As a one man show, or a small house agency why would that be necessary?
6 :
It depends on the illusion you are trying to present to your potential clientele. If you are targeting business owners, CEO, VP, CFO then Owner is a good idea. If you are targeting big business with Department Heads then you want a humble title like Market Engineer/Director or something to that affect. Do you want everyone to know you are a one man op? Or do you want the illusion that you are a successful company that can meet anyone's demands?
7 :
Engineering Research Consultant

How can I land this job (ad sales -- newspaper

How can I land this job (ad sales -- newspaper)
I have worked writing for newspapers -- both articles and ads. I have lots of experience writing marketing copy for various freelance clients. I am Brainbench certified in advertising industry knowledge and business communications. I worked as an assistant in a TV ad department. I NEED this job even though my husband doesn't think it's the right job for me. I don't care we NEED one of us making a full time income. We both have suspended licenses from being unable to pay our fines because of employers not paying us earlier. Our self-employment isn't cutting it, partly because hubby can't get to jobs until I pay off his fines. I emailed my resume this morning and within a couple of hours she emailed me back and called me hoping I could meet her tomorrow morning. Hubby does NOT want me at this job because he thinks it will be too stressful. I am bipolar and do react poorly to stress but I have a lot of gifts and talents to bring to this job and I know I could do well. Any ad reps able to help me nail the interview questions?

Nailing the interview isn't the question, but can you handle the job if you got it is. If you have the experience and knowledge, a good personality and dress professionally you'll do fine. To prepare for the interview google interviews and/or interview questions. As a writer I'm sure you can articulate well when speaking. But there is no one answer to nail an interview if you do the obvious right. You can have all the experience, credentials, personality, professionalism in the world, but for some reason the interviewer doesn't like you so you don't get the job, you just have to do your best you can. I'm a recruiter, so just do well and you'll do fine. Good luck

I'm looking for an online job that fits my Finance/Bookkeeping skills, can anyone help me on this? please?
I'm finding ways to augment my income using my skills (freelance), part-time. I can do also data entry and typing faster than any average computer literate individual. Can you help me refer to any websites or any online employers or any service seekers?

there is no such thing as an online job, its all a scam.
2 :
There are so many online scams are existing in the internet. Even search queries in popular search engines were displaying too many scam sites as top search results. After long time searching for work from home sites, finally I have found a website which helps to make money online for free : http://startearnnow.99k.org . Good luck.
3 :
Hi! Perhaps I can help. I come across these job leads from time to time at http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site with frequently updated job leads. You might also want to try sites like elance or guru. You can bid on short term and long term projects and some employers might hire you as a regular employee or independent contractor. Good luck
