Busy. I've worked for a Web Design company, and now I freelance. I perfer Freelancing because working in a busy web design environment can be extrememly hectic and stressful. On a typical day, I will wake up with and drink hot tea. Sit down and complte 2-3 hours scouting gigs on Craigslist. I'll take a lunch break and work 1-6 on the projects I have currently assigned. I have only one receptionist, that will handle online and telephone inquiries. Web Designers set their own hours indefinitely and it's up to you to meet your deadlines for your clients

s there a formula to figure out how much I should be paid as a freelance writer?
I'm finding jobs and sometimes they ask me how much I want or I have to submit a bid. Is there a formula to use to calculate how much to be paid?

Essentially, you need to find the match between what fee would make it worth your while to do - while also being a value to the company. Does anyone have tips for a freelance artist

Does anyone have tips for a freelance artist?
I got a paid account on a website called iFreelance, hoping to get jobs in graphic design, webdesign, and illustration. I have a really good portfolio, and a large and diverse skill set. But for some reason I keep bidding on various jobs, but never get them. I was wondering if there is something that I am doing wrong. Is there some secret or guidelines for making successful bids? If you have experience in the matter, please help! Thank you.

A freelance astrologer gig seems like something you would have to set up yourself, and not something companies are generally looking for but... Check Craig's List for your region/city/etc. (Not sure if they have a listing... but its worth a shot) Set up a website, advertise, and do individual appointments in your area or by phone. Call other astrologers/psychics in your area... see if they want to collaborate/share space/etc. I would love a really in depth astrology workup! Good luck!

Why can't I get a programming job

Why can't I get a programming job?
I've been in college for 7 years now. I have diplomas in programming, game-programming, and general arts and science, but all companies want 5+ years work-experience in programming... How is it possible for graduates to get jobs when most businesses won't higher people without at least 5 years experience? The only work I can find is freelance (mostly doing assignments for college students) and that only pays like $5-10 an hour because of outsourcing. How do I get a job as a programmer that doesn't pay peanuts?

it's all 6-mo contract work now, thanks to clinton. sold our jobs overseas to where there were no jobs for quite a while. so programmers have fought back and started creating Open Source Software and taking donations for it. I am one of them, but I have not yet started to take donations for my projects because I am unsure about PCI Compliance. I may have to put my projects on SourceForge.net or GitHub.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to get work as a Freelance Web designer?
I finished my first design and the company I did the job for was very satisfied. The person who referred me to this job is upset that I contacted the company myself and he is trying to stop them from giving me the referrals I earned. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to get my own clients. I have been laid off for awhile, and can't afford to invest at the moment. I just need to get another job so that I can pay for my own Domain. thanks for the information.

Here's what I did! I never made a lot of money at it. That dosen't mean that you can't. I started doing it as a hobby for myself using free sites. (free is the big word) GoDaddy and places like that. I bought a decent camera. I coded some free sites for friends across the country! Didn't cost me anything except my time. That was my investment! Just some time. Then I would visit some bars, resturants, corner stores with my laptop and show the owners what I could do. Any kind of business. They all need websites in this age! If you give them a fair price and down the road updates.... You can make a couple hundred bucks for 2 hours worth of work in the evening. Don't expect that to happen every day! Like I said. You may be able to make more than I did! Let youe imagination rule your life! The more people you sell yourself too. The more money you will make. Soon those people will be recommend you to their friends. Be honest, do a good job and Kickass on the others

I've taken my love of life and photography to a next level ..... I've taken pics of friends as long as I can remember but now someone wants to pay me to do it !! but I don't think my lil digital camera can do the job ..... any suggestions on a good camera ! ??? .....

All Nikon's are incredible cameras and are my personal favorite... they can be a little expensive though but you get what you pay for:) Good luck!

I prefer nikon. start out where your budget allows. d40's can be had all day long for around 300 -400 dollars on craigslist or ebay. If you out grow it. upgrade to better equipment.

get a good portrait lens first body second. canon,nikon, sony, pentax, olympus DSLRs are all good Po

There are a dozen good, professional-level brands of equipment out there, and they're all good. I mean Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony and others. So it's not a matter of finding a camera, but of a person who can advise you -- in person -- about equipment and techniques as well as business. If you live in a city, there may be camera clubs out there that have knowledgeable people in them. Or you might try assisting a commercial photographer who does weddings, etc. In any case, remember that equipment doesn't make the pictures, except in a technical sense -- the photographer does, so make education part of your budget.

The Nikon d80 is a great camera, I just bought mines today, but I heard a lot of great things about it. You could get a use or new one from craigslist or from ebay. Just look for stuff in your state or country or near you
