I'm finding jobs and sometimes they ask me how much I want or I have to submit a bid. Is there a formula to use to calculate how much to be paid?

Essentially, you need to find the match between what fee would make it worth your while to do - while also being a value to the company. I'd recommend giving them a total price for the piece, rather than hourly. Some great coverage of this topic is also here: http://writersdigest.com/article/flat-fees-vs-hourly-rates
