How could one eventually land a fake journalism job

How could one eventually land a fake journalism job?
My dream is journalism, but fake journalism in particular. Do I try out for a show like The Daily Show or do I freelance fake journalism? What do I do?

The "journalists" on The Daily Show are comedians/actors, so you should take some acting or improv classes, move on to stage improv or stand up comedy, and try to make a lot of contacts in the entertainment industry. You can certainly freelance with, say, a YouTube show.
2 :
Lol things like the colbert report and the daily show would be hard to get on but theres always fox's red eye. Unfortunately I can probably find more sense in that then the other crap on that channel lol.
3 :
If you want a truly fake journalism job make it up with your fake invisible friend Bob. Come on Timmy, where is your imagination, if its fake then say you work for an imaginary paper.
4 :
Another definition for the "fake" journalism you write about is called comedy

How to get a job in writing

How to get a job in writing?
Freelance writing like those AOL articles i'm not very experienced i was wondering how you could even apply to a job like that?

I'm curious too. Looking forward to what people say. The more experience you get the better.
2 :
Write. Read books & take courses on writing. When you have some samples of your work that have been critiqued and passed muster by experienced professionals, start submitting. Lots of people "want" to write, but most cannot apply seat of pants to seat of chair long enough to actually write anything, and most of those who do then discover they cannot spell, punctuate or know the difference between "heel" & "heal," "sail" & "sale." Master the language. And note that the average income for freelance writers runs about $5000/yr, which is almost exactly the same as it was in the mid-1970's. According to the IRS. Of course, rents run about 5 times higher now than they were back then.
3 :
Have you considered trying to get some work samples out there through sites like Helium.com? Or some freelance work through sites like oDesk.com? Regardless of your dream job in writing, samples and experience are key. Once you've got some experience, you might also want to visit your local library to check out a copy of the Writer's Market to get some ideas on submitting for publication

I feel for you. When I started freelancing it was a nightmare. Finding clients, promoting myself, and so on. There's a lot that I could tell you about how to get started but it would take forever and this really isn't the easiest place to dump massive amounts of information for an answer. However, you should check out a site called FreelanceSwitch. It's a place specially made to guide freelance designers and writers. They write articles and have an "amazing" free podcast archive where they tackle new freelancing topics every episode. It helped me out so so much when I was starting out and I really recommend you check it out. Generally, you have to be an entrepreneur. Finding a real, health insurance paying job in photography is difficult. You might try a portrait studio. It is mostly factory, cookie cutter work but at least you can put "photographer" on your resume.
2 :
like mortal said, you have to be a skilled business person most fotogs are self employed and cant afford an apprentice or 2nd shooter, they might need an assistant now and again, i want a P.A. next year. so employment as such is rear unless you work for a newspaper or the army or something, so send portfolios to the right people and you will make some luck for yourself or do a business course or more photography study all i got, it took me years of schools and selling cameras before i got lucky. i prostitute myself recording standard images to pay the bills, i long to make art a

Submit to a site like this http://www.fotolia.com/partner/169859 and you can start earning money off your photos as an amateur. Some people make a great living this way.
4 :
If you know anyone who has a current Mac computer, you can use IWeb to create a website showing your recent photographs. Set up an .mac account [$99 per year] and publish your IWeb webpage(s). Acquire from Vistaprint.com a colorful business card by selecting from their many templates a suitable one that meets your needs. Make sure to list the URL of your website along with a telephone answering device. Do not place your home address or anything personal such as a cellphone on this businesscard. Then when you receive the finished business card, pass it around to various churches, temples and the like to solicit business. Good luck

boring stable job vs exciting unstable job

boring stable job vs exciting unstable job?
I want to be a 3d computer artist for feature movie. But, it's freelancing job. So, it's not stable. But, I really want to do. My parents want me to be a teacher because I'm good at teaching and I have good experience since I've tutored for many years. Teaching job has good benefits, summers off, and stable. But, teaching job is not that exciting. I don't know what I need to choose

Do the 3D computer artist job. Definitely, 100% easy choice, do it do it do it. Its something you really want to do, you can't beat that for anything as far as jobs go! Besides, if you're really fired up about it and you go out there and do an awesome job, I promise you someone will notice your work. Its like chess, you gotta think more than one move ahead. They'll notice your work, and you might get approached with an extension or another job offer with someone else. If it doesn't work out, you know you can always return to teaching as your Plan B. And you'll know about the 3d rendering, you'll have experience, and then you can really pick one or the other since you've also taught in the past. Best of luck, I'm rootin' for ya!!

It all depends on what you truly want. Are you ready to accept the pros and cons of your selected job. The way I see is if you work a boring job, that you don't like. Your work performance will be crappy and you won't be a pleasant worker to be around. If you select a job you are passionate about? You have to ask yourself are you willing to do what it takes to succeed in it. Have you considered all aspects of the job? Such as work environment. Typical hours spent working. Do you have a life outside the job? Does it provide benefits? There is more to a job than "it looks exciting." When you add in all aspects of the job sonetimes it cancels out the fun. I am a graphic design senior and regret that I didn't examine all aspects of the career, before spending 6 years in College for it. I was only looking at the designing aspect, but did not know about attention to deadlines, high stress, no sleep, long, long, hours at the computer, Client rejects something you worked on for hours without any sleep. Just research throughly before you choose a career. I suggest you find out who you are as person. What are your passions. What makes you happy? What do you enjoy? What are your other goals and interests in life? Pick something that does not force you to change who you are or makes it hard for you to enjoy your other interests. good luc

Get a good portfolio that shows off your work. Put up a personnel website that shows off your work and sells your services. Look for people who need websites and sell yourself. There are usually a lot of free-lance work on craigeslist.org. You will have to sell yourself. After you get a few pages up and running, you have more to sell, but that doesn't mean you should work for free. If you are any good, you will find someone to hire you. I do free-lance network administration. It was a little hard when I first started, but after I got a few clients it got really easy because they refer me to other people. I turn down more work than I take now.

Whatever you feel comfortable doing! It is better to do something that you love rather than doing something that makes you want to jump out of a building, right? But make sure whichever job you're choosing is realistic because at the end of the day, you don't want to worry about food, bills, or rent. Good luck! = )

So do what a friend of mine did started teaching in teaching and free lanced on the side his passion and became a big wig at Microsoft. May teach computer science and then do what you want. I have attached a link to a site that could maybe inspire you to ultimately do what you want in a different direction. Watch the lecture you may see you can be happy and excited if you are creative. I hope this helps. Good luck
3 :
You have to follow what you want to do, not what others want you to do. Doors open when we follow our dreams. Don't let the stability of what you want to do stop you, because you never know what doors could be opened for you once you follow your path. Good luck to you.

At the end of the week, it's all about the $$$. There's pie in the sky, but when the red light drops, the BS stops. Where's the dough on Friday night? Sure, 3D art's cool, but what kind of life will you live if you can't make decent money off it? Just get a stable job where you'll have a decent roof over your head, decent food, and decent clothes.
