You would need to do a certificate/ Diploma course at the local tech college. There are different levels of certification. Depends what you want to do (makeup, waxing, tanning, beauty treatments etc). Freelance just means you don't work at a particular salon as such. You work for yourself and would be called up independently to go do makeup jobs, like for weddings and stuff. You would have your own business number etc
