In my experience, its not going to be easy. You have to get out there, and sell yourself. Unless you have a portfolio, dont expect much work, as anyone who might hire you, will want to see what you can do. Go to businesses, companies, etc., and have a talk with someone if they need any design work. Ask friends, neighbors, family, etc. if they know anyone who needs design work. Good Luck, its tough to get started as a freelancer.
