Are there any opportunities to become a freelance translator


Are there any opportunities to become a freelance translator?
I know English and Russian. Can I get paid to translate anything? (not as a primary job, more like on the side). Thanks!

Yes if you are accurate and fast and fluentin both languages. Many convention and visitors bureas keep a list of translators as do airports,courts and some business groups. The main work would probably be intereperting vs translating but there is translation work to do too for business documents, court papers etc.

Sure you can. But it's hard work starting out in something like that. You need to promote yourself. But once you get established in a community, jobs should come your way. Try working FOR another, established organization. Once you start to make yourself known, people will call you directly
