I freelance in TV/Film Production. Would it be a good idea to work as a freelance paralegal between jobs

I freelance in TV/Film Production. Would it be a good idea to work as a freelance paralegal between jobs?
So I went out to Hollywood for two years after graduation, worked a good amount on movie sets and at production companies and got some great experience. I couldn't afford to live out there like a responsible bill-paying adult on just production work though (even with the bare minimum in lifestyle comforts). It was partially due to the economy, but everyone who was living okay had a side job. Most people were waiters and bartenders, but I don't think that's working out so well for alot of people. One of the things I plan to do while home is get trained in a higher paying skill that could get me steady work in between production jobs, and one of the things that was reccomended to me (by my Mom in fact) was working as a paralegal, on a freelance basis. Now I know this could help me get into entertainment law as well, which is cool, but as far as freelancing as a paralegal between production work, can someone really do this? Can I realistically go from job to job and then take a haitus from paralegal work for a month or 2, go work on a show, then call whatever temp agency hooks me up with the work and expect to get some more? I tried doing a similar thing with office jobs, but work was scarce anyway and it didn't pay the bills, but I'm curious to see what people think.

If you can find a temp agency that specializes in paralegals you might be able to make it work. Other than that few lawyers are looking for paralegals that work as you do

How much experience do I need for a Web Developer Job

How much experience do I need for a Web Developer Job?
I recently graduated with an Associates in Multimedia and while I have been doing some digging, I found a place in town that specializes in Web Design and Video Production. I sent them a letter saying I would like to know more about the company. Their website I found doesn't give a lot of information. It just says it specializes in Video Production, Web Design and Publication. It is like the only place in town I can work that is close to my degree so I have to make sure I have a ton of experience before I even apply. I have two freelance jobs on the side that I am trying to finish and they are both web design. How much work do I need on my portfolio to apply so I can have a better chance of getting hired? This is like the only place in town to work and I want to be sure I get it.

first of all slow down -- to they even have a opening and if so are they in a position to hire -- i would finish the two projects you have in the wind and worry about this company once you have two satisfied customers

I work in a regular office hour for a design firm and I still want to do some freelancing job to earn extra extra...I'm thinking of buying a laptop and because of so many brands out there and I'm confuse of what is more productive but not so expensive...I obviously want to use it for multimedia design. Help!

Macbook. Because of it's simplicity and easy layout. And plus it works very well.
2 :
more cores on a processor is better for editing/graphic design. if you can, get a quad core, they will run really well. more ram helps performance. a wider screen means you can have more area to work with.
3 :
I recommend Dell. HP. They are good. You can have a look at these deals for them. http://www.dealstudio.com/viewsavings.php?deals_group_id=38&ru=283
4 :
i find the apple macbook air pretty good. its light and portable. Comes with photoshop and all that good stuff. Or alienwares. Pricey but come with lots of good software.
5 :
i would go with one that has at least a 2ghz dual core (if its amd make sure ist a turion ultra) 4gb ram and an ati hd3650 or an nvidia 9600 or higher
6 :
I recommend Sony vaio coz its powerful for photoshop.....or an HP coz that is cheap, buy one with brightview XVGA screen great for graphics, and very reliable for under $1,000 bucks. I bought my HP for a graphic design exhibit project at laptopshoppers.com

I want to start a freelance Graphic Design Business, how to start

I want to start a freelance Graphic Design Business, how to start?
I studied Graphic Design in college for about 3 years, I didn't get my degree but have plenty of experience, I have done some work for small companies and entrepreneurs, but I'd like to promote my self and start doing it for a living or as a part time job, I also do web design, how can I start this???

First I would sit down and make a plan on what you really want to accomplish. Since you already have graphic design and also it web design. I would find a hosting company, think of a name and purchase a domain name, and build a site for only this business. This would be a start. You would now have somewhere to send people to check out some of the work you have done. Join as many forums as you can and look for post that people need help on this subject and include your web site address after you answer there question. The point I am trying to make is Just Get Started. Sometimes I think we look for to many answers to our question and don't act. Look how many times Edison and Sanders failed. Just think if they never got started what would have happened. Failure is only one more way not to do something

It is not good. They want your personal information. They sell it for $20. That doesn't sound like much but they get 10,000 job seekers per month. Avoid them..
2 :
http://www.scriptlance.com/?ref=ilyesoft is much better. You can win many projects. And it's also cheap, you have inlimited free bids, and you will pay a small fee of %5 ( at least $5) only when you win a project . Give it a try

I need an example of a contract for freelance web design

I need an example of a contract for freelance web design?
I'm starting a free lance job and they want me to submit a contract. I don't know what to include or write.

Write when why you will work and how long.
2 :
I guess it would depend on what company have hired you ... but i would make sure that you state very cleary what your role(s) are going to be , how long the contract is for , your hourly rate for the service and things like that. I would see legal advice to make sure that any contact you have drawn up would be water tight in a civl court should anything go wrong.
3 :
There are online resources for contracts and agreements. Some offer free templates others are for sale but usually at a reasonable price

Rates of a photography job

Rates of a photography job?
Hi, I'm thinking of doing a few freelance jobs for some people and I really need a guide as to how much to charge. What are the going hourly rates of an average photographer? Taking into account the travelling to location, editting and printing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, 10 points best answer, thanks! I've been photographing for the best part of 5 years Here's my work in the link, I'm only an amteur photographer but I'm looking to break through and earn money from it as it is my passion. I've done a few free jobs for various people to spread my name around. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamesgreen321/ I have a certificate in advanced photo editting, and also I would be usign a dslr with a variety of lenses as well as a tripod. The location depends on the customer.

Explain somethings first: Level of Experience Years of experience Any Degree or Diploma or a certificate? Equipment Location And kindly show to everyone your portfolio.
2 :
The working rate is aroudn $50 to $125 an hour. The reason is simple due to the fact that you may have to re-edit the pics slightly in Photoshop and then, print a copy the person to see in case other touch-ups are required. The rate is justified if you know your stuff and it covers any extra or hidden cost that may arise. No need to show diplomas. Experience is what counts and the ability to believe in what you do. Go for it if that is going to be your bread and butter. Print some business card, advertise for weddings, private corporate parties etc.... you need exposure to get the name around.
