If given a choice, will you freelance?
There are many people who have given up their usual 9-5 jobs and chosen to freelance so they can be their own boss at their own time. Given a choice, will you freelance or will you stay in the safety net of being an employee?

There is so much paperwork involved in freelancing, that most do not succeed. The best avenue to take would be to hire a CPA to assist in the paperwork - but most that freelance think they can do it themselves. There is also keeping current with the payment of the various taxes. These are the reasons that most do not succeed at freelancing.
2 :
I think the freelance sector is so crowded it's difficult to make a decent living doing it. The best bet perhaps is to build a network of contacts in regular employment before attempting it
