freelance writing jobs

freelance writing jobs?
I am a talented writer, based on feedback from work colleagues, as well as lecturers and professors when I was doing an MBA at college. It was suggested that I use my talent through doing freelance writing work. My initial research indicates that there are many of these sites around, and offering various assignments. My main challenge is to get to one or two authentic sites from where I can get high paying jobs immediately. Can anyone steer me in tihe right directon?

There are a couple of different places that you can go to find some freelance writing opportunities; however, every one works a little differently. And when first starting out, you're not going to get paid as much as somebody who has already been working as a freelance writer, and can provide some references and samples of work they've already completed. When starting out as a freelance writer, there are a couple different things you should think about. Maybe start a blog where you can post some samples of your writing; actually have samples of articles and other writing you have done to show prospective employers; and make sure that you list all of the other skills that you have besides writing.. Maybe you're good Photoshop, or you're willing to post articles to article directories for somebody; remember, it's not just writing that people are willing to pay for online. A good website to start getting a little more information about how to begin your freelance writing career is listed below...

I would start with higher-paying content sites like BrightHub or wiseGEEK. Both offer fairly steady work and experience which you can add to a portfolio. Starting a professional blog for yourself is a great idea, too. Something to showcase your work, talents, and let potential clients know how to contact/hire you. Freelance sites like Elance and Guru are also fantastic places to get your feet wet working for many different clients and even testing several different types of "gigs". There are also sites such as constant-content.com which allow you to post your work for sale. You can post stuff you've written for fun, or stuff you didn't get paid for, and make quite a nice and steady income for yourself
