experience need to freelance website design


experience need to freelance website design?
if you where looking for a freelancer to build a website..what would you want to see and how much. Besides html,css and graphics knowledge what else would you want a webdeveloper to know..PHP, DHTML,Pearl? How many websites should i have under my belt before i can try to make money thru freelance jobs. thanks all.....

For back-end server work, PHP is a good start, yes! For front-end, stick with HTML.

A lot of community colleges offer graphic design and webmaster courses pretty cheap. They're quite easy to learn and provide you with certification. Certification would earn you top dollar. How much you know will determine your asking price for your work. The more coding and design ability you have the more you can ask a person for your knowledge and expertise. So my suggestion is to learn as much as you possibly can if you want to succeed in this area. That would then determine your market. It's better to work making big money on commercial sites than small amounts on people's personal sites
